FAQs on our manufacturing process . . .

  • 1. How does your manufacturing process optimise the nutritional content of your products?

Our pressure-cooking process creates nutrient dense bone extracts. The process ensures that collagen proteins are extracted from the bones, and broken down into smaller peptides and amino acids.  This makes our range rich in minerals and healthy nutrients that are more easily absorbed by the human gut – making our beef bone extracts and broths ideal ingredients for food and functional food manufacturers.

  • 2. How do you confirm product is in specification?

Our positive release policy means we don’t release anything from our kitchen until all laboratory tests for both composition and microbiology are confirmed – until we are satisfied the ingredient quality is of the highest standard and within specification.  Our own in-house testing is done on each batch, followed by a certified lab test with the results presented on the COA (certificate of analysis). Even with the many different recipes we make, we’re usually running over 99% of our products in spec first time.

  • 3. What is the pallet size that you use for ambient bone extract?

We have 2 standard pallets that we use for shelf stable product.  One takes 36 X 20kg cartons (pallet size 1000mm x 1000mm x 1100mm high) and the other takes 30 x 20 kg cartons (pallet size 1000mm x 800mm x 1100mm high).

  • 4. What is the Filter size used on final product?

Immediately prior to packing off, product is passed through a 200 micron filter.

  • 5. What packaging do you use for international transport to limit box damage?

Most international customers purchase by container lot – containers are loaded and sealed on site. Smaller international customers purchase by pallet and arrange transport via a freight forwarder, these pallets are wrapped and strapped well to minimise damage in transport.

  • 6. Why does your MOQ vary from 1 pallet to 1 batch?

Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) depends on the product type.  If a customer orders a non-standard product they will need to order a whole batch as a minimum.
