Robust Food Safety Systems
We operate a Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) approved Risk Management Programme (RMP).
This is part of a New Zealand-wide, government regulated system that ensures all food ingredients and products meet the highest food safety and export standards.
Our Risk Management Programme (RMP)
Our Risk Management Programme is HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) based which is the USDA CFR117 part C requirement. We also meet packaging requirements specified in CFR 170-199.
Our system uses advanced technology and stringent hygiene processes to guarantee the highest levels of consistency across food safety and quality.
Testing and Auditing
We pride ourselves on a robust process with an excellent track record for independent audit results. Routine microbiological and compositional testing is carried out by independently audited laboratories that meet international standards.
Our products are routinely tested for heavy metals and always found safe.

We are USDA and FDA approved and listed. We are proud to consistently meet the highest grade, being audited quarterly for this listing. We can provide FSIS-approved US label claims to support the quality of our customers’ products, and we work together to investigate and achieve these.
HALAL CERTIFICATION
Our Halal certification reflects strong food safety criteria and supports health and sanitary practices as reflected in our RMP. We require a Halal certificate from suppliers, and a separate independent audit confirms our Halal status.
Food Safety & Animal Welfare
For us Food Safety includes animal safety and welfare. New Zealand’s animal welfare standards rank among the world’s best. Strict biosecurity and quality control processes, together with our geographic isolation, result in an animal BSE / TSE disease-free status.
Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) Verification Services ensures New Zealand’s animal products meet both New Zealand standards and those of the countries we’re exporting to. Veterinarians play a key role, working on the front line at meat processors to ensure the welfare of animals, and that our food and animal products are safe and suitable. It means the beef bones we receive are food-safe and ethically sourced.

Together with our customers we consider all the international legalities on compliance and overseas market access requirements (OMARs).
